What is that?
When the caries is too large and affected by the dental pulp, a simple filling is no longer possible. Endodontics consists in the elimination of the infected pulp and in the disinfection of the root canals. The canals are then filled with a special material called gutta-percha and root cement.

What is obtained with endodontic treatment?
The result is that the tooth is no longer a receptacle for bacteria and after an adequate crown or inlay reconstruction, the tooth returns to perform its natural function.
Can root canal treatment hurt?
The pain must not be present during any dental treatment, it is kept under control through adequate local anesthesia. Slight soreness may be normal after therapy, but it is kept under control with a common pain reliever.
